The Glagolitic script is the oldest known Slavic alphabet. It was created in the 9th century by Saints Cyril and Methodius, two Byzantine brothers. The script was developed to write the Old Church Slavonic language. The brothers were on a mission to translate religious texts into a language that the Slavic people could understand, making Christianity more accessible to them. It’s a fascinating part of linguistic and cultural history.
The Glagolitic script is written from left to right. Each character in the script represents a specific sound, and the script is organized linearly.
