Lockdown Blues

It used to be called the summer blues

Now though, it’s those lockdown blues

Caught up in these four walls

Memories captivated in just a few scrolls!

Love, passion, pain and boredom

Mingled emotions running high in random

Discoveries made with every secret revealed

Eyes opened, outside all being closed!

You were my lockdown love

Passing our time with every line

Chats on free, images to a pixelated fine

Churning thoughts to a crescendo, all mine!

Oh! Bring back those days and those bright nights

To turn on these dulled out,

“back to normal” lights!

Truth, it be told!

Learned was that race, the blessed

Consciousness teaching on a miniscule

Awaiting sunrise and sunset to prove!

Then they came, they saw and conquered

Kings of emptiness, thinking they be matured.

Far from it, further from the skies above

Digging deeper into their materialistic encode.

Truth, it will now emerge

Engrained in every sand of earth

Blossoms of hope round the corner

Wait for it, it will divinely devour!

Afflicted

He stood across her, staring in unrefined neglect

Past deeds surfacing, their needs not yet met

“If only”, he thought, let me proceed in unbridled direct

But she was gone, in another’s arm of creed and passion bereft!

Tis what they call another fundamental historic peck?

No signs of remorse, something he so longed to see

Blinded was she, hanging on to her partner’s sleeve

Not even a glance shed in his direction

This marking the beginning of his self-created affliction!

Eat, pray, weep…?

Shelter from heat
Is that all we seek?

Wishing on a passing cloud
Is that all that holds benefitting clout?

Sing in my praise, before they sleep
Eat, pray, weep…is that the order of the sheep?

Come on by with a wistful must
Shatter those chains of an aged past
Unwilling though…you still find trust!

For look ahead, far deep into the light
A challenging sword, in all its might
Clearing boundaries…all around, left and then right
Herein lies my evergreen, vengeful delight!

Heart Shaped

This one is for you
You will recognise it
If you are the true, my baby boo!

Your eyes like deep pits
Enriched with years of grandiose soul
Your skin more glowing
Rife with melted chocolate and honey
All of it encouraging me so much more!

Your hands so divine
A pleasure for us, all mankind
But mostly its your heart
Hidden in depth, but shouting out
Cream-filled, pure, delicate and refined
Honestly spread even, a fine gold-mine
Waiting and ready for me to entwine!
